The Spiritual Health Practitioner or Spiritual Care Practitioner is a unique and compassionate presence on the ACT team. This role supports clients, families, and staff in navigating the emotional and spiritual dimensions of life—especially in the face of mental illness, trauma, and moral distress. While not involved in shared clinical responsibilities such as medication management, the Spiritual Care Practitioner contributes to the team’s holistic approach by offering spiritual and emotional care that fosters meaning, connection, and hope.

The role of the in Spiritual Health Practitioner includes, but is not limited to, these duties:

  • Offers compassionate presence and personalized spiritual support, honoring each person’s beliefs, values, and traditions.
  • Facilitates grief and transition processing, creating space for reflection, healing, and growth.
  • Walks alongside others as a guide and witness—helping to hold meaning and hope in the midst of suffering.
  • Creates space for sacred questioning, allowing individuals to explore life’s deeper mysteries in a safe and respectful way.
