The Nurse role may be filled by either a Registered Nurse or a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Nurses provide medical assessment, services, treatment, and rehabilitation support.

 

The role of the Nurse includes, but is not limited to, these duties:

 

  • Provides psychoeducation to clients and their families.
  • Completes medication reconciliation as required at service transition points.
  • Plans and provides direct nursing care, including administering intramuscular injections, developing and initiating wound care plans, and conducting comprehensive mental status assessments.
  • Reviews, interprets, and responds appropriately to lab results.
  • Liaises with Primary Care Providers (Nurse Practitioners or General Practitioners) to ensure quality care and management of chronic diseases or co-morbid medical challenges.
