Recreation Therapist


Teams may have a Recreation Therapist, Recreation Workers or Leisure/Activity Workers who may all address the recreation and leisure needs to support ACT participants with engagement in recovery.
The role of the Recreation Therapist includes, but is not limited to, these duties:
- Supports therapeutic engagement in meaningful activity and healthy socialization.
- Supports community integration through activity-based, social and pre-vocational skills.
- Provides 1:1 and group interventions for client-centred activities to improve quality of life.
- Supports harm reduction with engagement in alternative activities.
- Supports the development and practice of transferrable skills to other areas of daily life.
