Vocational Specialist can also be referred to as the Vocational Rehabilitation Worker.  These are the experts in supporting ACT participants in connecting to the community with employment and education goals. 

The role of the Vocational Specialist includes, but is not limited to, these duties:

  • Provides assessment individualized vocational rehabilitation planning in vocational functioning, including paid work, unpaid work, education and volunteering.
  • Connects clients to community resources including volunteering, leisure activities and other community engagement opportunities.
  • Develops a network and linkage to local employers and non-profit agencies involved in vocational rehabilitation activities, including providing education and support to employers.
  • Knowledgeable of the legislations from social services in relation to employment and education.
